Peach Cocktails: Fruity Cocktail Recipes to Try At Home

Peach cocktails are the sweet, fruity alcoholic drinks that have been missing from your life! Perfect for the spring, wonderfully refreshing in summer, and rejuvenating in fall and winter, peachy cocktails are simply supreme!

In this article, we’ll explain how you can best use peach schnapps to make delectable peach mixed drinks before running down the list of our favorite fruity peach alcoholic drink recipes that you can try at home.

From the Peachy Mule and the Peach Mimosa to Peach Punch and the Peach Cobbler, here’s how to make the best peachy cocktails.

What’s the best peach alcohol to use?

Before we get to the peach drinks themselves, it’s important to know what the peach base for these alcoholic cocktails is going to be.

You have several options to choose from, but they can all be used to delicious design in the peach drink recipe ideas we’ve listed below.

The best option is peach schnapps, the classic peach liquor. There are also lower quality peach liqueurs, as well as the wonderfully fruity peach vodka. And what goes well with peach vodka and peach schnapps? Ice! We highly recommended making use of an Ice ball maker to produce the freshest ice for your peachy drink mix.

If you’re not feeling the peach schnapps, or are looking for a lighter, less alcoholic beverage, then you can always switch the peach schnapps for peach juice.

What do you use peach schnapps with?

Peach schnapps is enjoyed with a wide range of different mixers, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and you’ll see how versatile this alcoholic beverage is below.

A few of the great mixers that we’ll be using and that you can try out at home include the following:

  • Lemonade
  • Orange juice
  • Tonic
  • Ginger Ale
  • Lime juice
  • Champagne
  • Vodka
  • Gin
  • Whiskey
  • Bourbon
  • White wine

Are peach schnapps and peach liqueur the same?

Peach schnapps is the highest quality alcoholic beverage to use in your peach cocktail because it’s subtly different from other types of peach beverages.

Peach schnapps is an alcoholic beverage that’s distilled, with peaches being fundamental to the distillation process. It’s made with real peaches and so offers the strongest peach flavors. Other peach liqueurs are often just white alcohol flavored with peaches - they aren’t distilled with peaches.

Lower quality peach liqueurs are often much cheaper, but they don’t taste quite so good. Peach vodka drinks are often similar to peach liqueurs and are simply flavored with peaches. The same can be said for peach brandy, too.

Can you drink peach schnapps?

A fresh peach cocktail needn’t be complicated to prepare either, because peach schnapps is of high enough quality and taste to be enjoyed on its own.

We recommend using your ice ball maker to prepare fresh ice and then measuring out 2 ounces of peach schnapps into a highball glass. Enjoy your peach schnapps straight on the rocks, or add a dash of club soda to dilute it.

The best peachy cocktails

#1 Peachy Mule

A classic Moscow Mule is prepared from vodka, lime juice, and ginger ale, but we’ve been seriously taken by the Peachy Mule, which offers a delightful twist on the traditional recipe.

A Peachy Mule is prepared using equal parts peach schnapps and dark rum. Mix with ginger ale and lime juice, then serve over crushed ice. An alternative recipe is to use peach-flavored vodka instead of standard vodka.

Mix this with ginger ale and lime juice, and serve over crushed ice. A classic Moscow Mule should be served in a copper tankard, and the same goes for a Peachy Mule!

#2 Peach Julep

The Peach Julep is a fruity, summer take on the Mint Julep, a timeless cocktail recipe that never fails to impress the taste buds.

This recipe keeps the mint, too, but adds a wonderful level of fruity goodness to the mix!

You’ll need fresh peaches, peach schnapps, and your favorite bourbon whiskey. Muddle mint, then mix with a little sugar, lemon juice, and pour over crushed ice.

#3 Peach Mimosa

The Peach Mimosa is a super-fruity version of the classic Mimosa, which at its simplest is just champagne mixed with orange juice. It’s already fruity, of course, but mix in peach schnapps, and you’ve got a real winner for your next brunch.

If it’s too early for a super-strong drink, then instead of peach schnapps, mix 1 part orange juice and 2 parts champagne with 1 part peach juice instead. This fruity combo is guaranteed to give you a vitamin boost in the morning!

#4 Peach Cosmo

The Cosmo is an all-around favorite, but what happens if you’re missing the Cointreau or triple sec? Don’t worry, because peach schnapps makes for a fantastic alternative.

To prepare a Peach Cosmo, you’re going to need vodka, cranberry juice, peach schnapps, lime juice, and a martini glass. Shake all the ingredients together, then pour over crushed ice for a cool finish to this peachy cocktail.

#5 Peach Cobbler

The Peach Cobbler is quite literally a dessert in drink form, and it’s one of our top summer cocktails.

To make this dessert-in-liquid-form, you’re going to need peach vodka or peach schnapps, as well as heavy cream, sugar, and a few crushed Graham crackers.

Mix together the liquids, stir in the sugar, and then rim the glass with crushed crackers for a unique, crunchy finish. This cocktail is sweet yet creamy and superbly filling!

#6 Peachy Old Fashioned

The Peachy Old Fashioned is a scrumptious take on the traditional Old Fashioned recipe, which is one of the oldest cocktails known to humankind!

An Old Fashioned is a subtle mix of bitters, muddled sugar, and bourbon or whiskey. To turn this into a peach drink, mix equal parts peach schnapps and bourbon.

It’s also possible to use peach syrup instead of sugar, or better yet, a bourbon that’s been infused with peaches (yes, there are a few brands producing this unique drink!). Garnish with peach slices to finish the job.

#7 Peach Punch

Peach Punch is one of the best cocktails to prepare in bulk, and it’s perfect for parties and celebrations. Get the pitcher ready, and make sure you’ve got plenty of fresh peaches to slice up for garnishing.

To prepare Peach Punch, you need peach schnapps or peach flavored vodka, as well as freshly squeezed lime juice, freshly squeezed orange juice, and elderflower liqueur.

You can really tailor-make this recipe to your tastes (or your ability to drink alcohol!), so don’t be afraid to try vodka and peach schnapps, or white wine and peach schnapps, too!

Let’s get mixing!

Peach schnapps is one of the fruitiest liqueurs you could choose to mix cocktails with. This delectable drink is not only peachy but versatile too, and it will add a sparkle to any of your favorite cocktails.

Why not try a Peachy Mule with vodka and ginger ale, or go for a sparkling Peach Mimosa at brunch-time? Then there’s the Peach Cobbler, Peach Old Fashioned, Peach Punch, and of course, a simple peach schnapps on the rocks!

If you’re looking for fruity peach-flavored alcohol recipe ideas, then why not try mixing peachy cocktails next weekend?
