Strawberry Cocktails: Berry-Licious Party Drinks

Strawberry cocktails are one of the best ways to liven up your spring or summer parties! Filled with berries, drowning in strawberry goodness, and of course, packing that alcoholic punch you’d expect, strawberry cocktails are our new favorite drinks!

While there are so many strawberry cocktails to choose from, we’ll take you through a refined selection of our personal favorites. From the Strawberry Daiquiri (try this one frozen!) to Strawberry Sangria (in pitcher size, of course), here are the best berry-licious strawberry mixed drinks!

How to make strawberry cocktails

Let’s take a peep at what goes into making the best strawberry cocktails.

Of course, every cocktail and every recipe is different, but there are a few key berry-inspired ingredients that will help you create the perfect drinks at home.

The cocktails we’ve listed below don’t require all of these ingredients, but it’s good to know how to spice them up with more berry goodness or how to start creating your own cocktails, too.

Fresh or frozen strawberries

No strawberry cocktail is complete without some sort of strawberry! You’ll need fresh or frozen berries, either as a fruity base or as a simple garnish.

We often prefer frozen berries, as they help to chill the cocktail and add delightful strawberry flavor. Fresh berries, however, can be easily muddled in the bottom of the cocktail glass. Frozen berries allow the juice and oils to be released from the berries, infusing your cocktail with fruitiness. Fresh strawberries, however, won’t chill the drink (but you can just add more ice).

In addition to strawberries, strawberry cocktails pair well with other types of berries. Try adding blackberries, cherries, or blueberries to your strawberry drink recipe, too.

Strawberry alcohol drink

The majority of the classic strawberry cocktails below can be made with standard spirits, such as vodka or gin, to liven up your delicious strawberry liquor.

There are many different types of strawberry liqueur available, as well as Strawberry Schnapps, both of which you can find in your local store.

Increasingly, strawberry-infused alcohol is becoming widely available, too - strawberry vodka drinks or strawberry gin, for example.

Non-alcoholic strawberry mixers

Add in a non-alcoholic strawberry mixer to your cocktail! Sweet sugar syrups or extra strawberry juice will complement your drink exceptionally well.

There are strawberry-flavored lemonades, while other fruit and berry-based drinks and syrups work particularly well, too. Grenadine, a pomegranate and sugar syrup, is a very popular cocktail ingredient!

Ice

Finally, no matter which strawberry cocktails you’re mixing, you always need fresh ice to complete the drink.

We suggest using an Ice ball maker to quickly prepare fresh, pure ice when mixing cocktails at home. These ice balls don’t melt quickly at all, and your cocktail will stay fresh and chilled for longer.

The best strawberry cocktails

Try your hand at making all of the following strawberry cocktails (or any of their tasty variations) at home.

From the Strawberry Daiquiri to the Strawberry Mojito, here are our personal favorite strawberry cocktails.

#1 Strawberry Daiquiri

The Strawberry Daiquiri could be the most well-known strawberry-based cocktail out there. Its most basic form is a simple mixture of white rum, lime juice, and sugar syrup. The strawberry variant adds more than a few berries to the game!

To make a Strawberry Daiquiri, you need to mix together rum, lime juice, sugar syrup (or strawberry syrup) with frozen strawberries. Blend the ingredients with ice, and serve cold. Top this beauty off with a few strawberries or blueberries for garnish.

For the best results, prepare your Strawberry Daiquiri slushie in advance and allow it to freeze overnight - then serve a truly Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri at the party.

#2 Strawberry Margarita

The Margarita is a hugely popular cocktail recipe that’s mixed into thousands of different variants over the years. One of the enduring favorites, though, is always going to be the Strawberry Margarita.

To make a Strawberry Margarita, you first need your Margarita base of tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Add to this a big bunch of fresh strawberries or some other strawberry mixer or liqueur, and blend the ingredients together.

You can easily turn this recipe into a Frozen Strawberry Margarita by blending the ingredients with ice, or frozen strawberries, then leaving it to set in the freezer.

#3 Pink Strawberry Mojito

The Pink Strawberry Mojito is a berry-licious take on the standard Mojito cocktail recipe. This one not only tastes fantastic but looks excellent, served decadently in a tall glass with liberal garnishings of strawberries and mint.

To prepare a Pink Strawberry Mojito, muddle fresh mint and strawberries, then mix with white rum, grenadine, and lime juice. Serve over ice, with more strawberries and mint to finish.

#4 Strawberry Sangria

If you’re preparing for a large summer party, one of the best strawberry cocktails to mix up for large gatherings is Strawberry Sangria.

This is a simple take on Spanish-style Sangria, and it’s easy to prepare in bulk for lots of guests to enjoy from pitchers. This recipe is super fruity, and it’s really easy to change things up to suit your tastes (add more alcohol, use more fruit, etc.)

To start, you’ll need your desired amount of sliced fresh strawberries, as well as oranges and raspberries. To add more sweetness, you can include strawberry syrup, too. Pour 1 bottle of white wine or rose wine into an ice and fruit-filled pitcher. Top with a little lemonade or orange juice to finish, then serve fresh and cold to your friends!

#5 Strawberry G and T

A Strawberry G and T is a great way to liven up the Gin and Tonic with a little fruity goodness. First, mix up your preferred gin and tonic measures. Typically, the most common ratio is 1 part Gin to 1 part Tonic, but make it as strong as you like!

Next, you add ice and strawberries (either fresh or frozen strawberries) into a large tin balloon glass. Pour in your G and T mix and garnish the glass with a fresh strawberry.

Alternatively, why not try mixing with a strawberry-infused gin? You can also make the same style of drink with vodka rather than gin if this is your preferred spirit.

Strawberry cocktails: The last drink of the day!

We’ve come to the end of our strawberry cocktails list, so that means it’s your turn to start mixing these delightfully fruity drinks at home!

From the Strawberry Daiquiri or Strawberry Margarita to a large pitcher of strawberry-infused Sangria, these are worthy party drinks through and through. And here’re a little tip, try these cocktails completely frozen.
